Hauck’s Regulator Gas Manifold (RGM) is a factory assembled and prepiped gas train designed to provide overpressure protection and precise outlet pressure control. The RGM is an integral part of a fuel gas supply system that meets NFPA requirements.
Each component of the RGM has been optimally sized to provide for accurate and consistent gas pressure supply throughout the combustion system operating range. Overpressure protection guards against damage to downstream components in the event of a main gas pressure regulator failure.
The RGM consists of isolation valves, sediment trap, strainer pressure gauges, slam shut safety shutoff valve, main fuel gas regulator, a pressure relief valve and interconnecting piping.

Hauck has designed a new burner to meet ultra low NOx emission requirements for aggregate drying applications. Utilizing the latest lean burn premix technologies (patent pending), the NovaStar offers design and performance advantages without the added expense of flue gas recirculation (FGR) for NOx reduction.
Emission requirements on asphalt plants are becoming increasingly more stringent. Traditionally, FGR has been used as an add-on to existing burners to reduce NOx emissions. FGR can be an expensive and complicated system to manage. The industry trend will be to require lower and lower emission levels, beyond the ability of most FGR systems to accomplish.
Hauck has utilized a completely different combustion technology to achieve the NOx reduction offered by the NovaStar. The lean burn premix method of combustion thoroughly mixes air and fuel before they reach the burner nozzle/flame holder. The fully and evenly mixed air-gas flow allows for complete combustion, while at the same time quenching the reaction, keeping the flame temperature low enough to prevent the formation of thermal NOx.
The NovaStar features:
• Ultra low NOx emissions of < 20 ppm without FGR
• Low pressure design
• Precise air flow control via VFD
• Compact flame
• Low maintenance design
Contact your Hauck sales representative for more information on this exciting new product for the aggregate drying market.

Hauck is pleased to announce a successful start-up for a collaborative effort between Nucor Steel and Alchas, Inc. and Bendotti S.p.A. engineers and furnace builders for a steel reheat pusher furnace installation with Hauck’s newest ultra low NOx burner, the TriOx. The new furnace, approximately 60 feet long by 42 feet wide by 6.5 feet high, is equipped with six zones utilizing a total of 22 TriOx burners with a combined capacity input of approximately 150 MM Btu/hr firing natural gas. The furnace includes a large recuperator designed to preheat combustion air to approximately 800ºF.
The TriOx’s unique three-staged air injection design provides maximum production efficiency while minimizing NOx emissions common with high temperature preheated air. The burner is capable of low excess air operation, typically 5% with mass flow control, throughout its entire operating range, for ultimate fuel efficiency.
Hauck has developed a new ultra low NOx gas burner, the TriOx. The TriOx utilizes a three-staged air injection design for maximum production efficiency while minimizing NOx emissions - as low as 20 ppm or less - even with high temperature preheated air. The burner is capable of low excess air operation (5%) throughout its entire operating range, resulting in outstanding fuel efficiency. The TriOx is ideally suited for industrial heat processes in excess of 1600ºF (870ºC) including aluminum furnaces, steel reheat furnaces, thermal fluid heaters and other high temperature heat processes requiring ultra low NOx emissions. The burner is capable of efficient operation with a 10:1 on ratio turndown.
In addition to its operating efficiency, the TriOx offers excellent flame safety. The burner produces a visible, scannable pilot flame throughout its entire operating range, even when operating in the Invisiflame™ mode.
The TriOx is available in four sizes with capacities ranging from 5 to 20 million Btu/hour (1,300 to 5,900 kW). Contact Hauck for additional information on this outstanding new addition to the Company's line of burner products.

… or at least at 15,400 feet (4700 meters)! Hauck Manufacturing Company has recently completed installation of a high altitude StarJet burner for an asphalt plant in one of the most remote corners of the world in Ali, Tibet. Located in western Tibet, Ali is known as the ‘roof of Tibet’ due to its high elevation. The average temperature is 37ºF (3ºC) with road construction temperatures ranging from 10ºF – 59ºF (–12ºC to 15ºC). The plant was needed to produce paving materials for a 50 mile (80 kilometer) roadway from Ali to Kunsha in the western region of Tibet.
According to Mr. Jack Marino, Hauck Vice President, “Our dealer in China told us they needed a version of the StarJet for their largest plant builder for a road construction project at 15,400 feet elevation. They also needed a firm guarantee that it would work, since no other burner in the Chinese market would work under these conditions.” For the SiKun Road department of the Tibet Tianlu Company, Ltd., Hauck sized a burner for the rarified atmosphere and designed a special atomizer to burn diesel oil (patent pending). The company guaranteed that the specially designed StarJet 520 would do the job – and it has!
Burning diesel oil, the plant is in operation for approximately 4 hours per day, producing 160 tons per hour of material.
For additional information on Hauck’s ability to provide solutions for asphalt applications, contact Jack Marino at (717) 272-3051 or via email at jmarino@hauckburner.com.
